Why flowers
My work balances exuberance and calculation represented in floral shapes reimagined through layers of acrylic paint and collaged material. I am drawn to flowers not as symbols of delicacy, but as explosions of color and structure, and I work to capture that vitality in a way that feels grateful and alive.
Each piece begins intuitively, with bold gestures and saturated color. Paper, texture, and paint accumulate, or are removed. Observing and responding over time leads to surfaces that reward a closer look. The finished work is never quite planned; it is discovered, and the observer is invited to discover as well.
I want viewers to feel the energy and be drawn closer. The joy in these pieces is deliberate, but so is the complexity beneath it. I hope that you can see both the spontaneity of the marks and the patience of the process in a way that leaves you feeling totally present.
